| Black Widow Tetras are beautiful little tropical fish. It has an ovel body with three black vertical strips, one through the eye, one behind the gill cover and the other runs through the dorsal fin. Females tend to be plumper than males. Males have broader anal fins and more pointed dorsal fins than females. They are best kept in a shoals of six or more because they can become nippy in smaller shoals. They are best kept in warm, soft, acidic water with a low pH. | |

| Black Widow Tetras are fairly easy to breed, A good diet is an important stimulant for breeding. Black Widow Tetras are egg scatters. They lay their egg's in the aquarium subtrate. The parents should be removed after the eggs are laid. | |
