COMMENTS
Tiger Barbs are hardy, colourful fish, Female Tiger Barbs are deeper bodied than the males. Males have more colourful fins that the females. They prefer warm, soft, acidic water with a low pH and also like a well planted tank with floating plants for cover. Tiger Barbs are fin nippers, so they shouldn't be kept with fish with large decorative fins. Tiger Barbs are social fish, so they should be kept in shoals of six or more. Keeping them in large shoals helps to prevent their habit of fin nipping.
BREEDING
Tiger Barbs are egg scatters. They lay their egg's in the subtrate. The Tiger Barbs should be removed from the aquarium after spawning to prevent them eating the egg's.
