| Odessa barb is a colourful fish, it has a broad band of red along its flanks with a false eye spot, each scale has a dark base.They can be be kept in pairs, but prefer to be in shoals. They prefer soft, acidic water with a low pH and also like a well planted tank with floating plants for cover. | |

| Odessa Barbs are egg scatters. They lay their egg's in the subtrate. The Odessa Barb should be removed from the aquarium after spawning to prevent them eating the egg's. | |
